The basic stitches involved—
the magic ring
single crochet (us terms) Double crochet (uk terms)
and increase/decrease
are easy to pick up, and there are plenty of resources to guide you along the way. Many beginners start with small, simple projects like a cute little bear or a bunny. Before gradually moving on to more complex creations.
With some practice, you’ll quickly see your skills improve. You’ll gain confidence in creating different shapes and designs, with each of your makes. Don't be put off if your first few attempts don’t turn out perfect—every step you take is progress! You are also learning a new skill.

Stitch markers (to help keep track of rounds, i would also say a pad and pen so you can note this down too)
